Using a Paver Sealer on Retaining and Landscape Walls
By admin | February 3, 2010
Nowadays many homeowners are using landscape brick to construct retaining and landscape walls. The bricks can be intertwined to create a very solid wall that can hold in many cubic feet of dirt or just act as a decorative landscape wall. As with anything that is exposed to Mother Nature, the landscape bricks will fade over time and may even start to deteriorate and crumble. Many people are learning about the benefits of a paver sealer. This is not unlike a concrete sealer that is applied to driveways and sidewalks to protect cement from the elements. This paver sealer is sprayed onto the bricks using a pump up type garden sprayer are similar device. The sealer will form a film on the bricks to lock out moisture and to create a barrier against the sun’s rays preventing the pavers from fading. This can also give the bricks a very wet glossy look which can add to the curb appeal of any property. Brick or landscape paver sealer is very user friendly and can be applied to previously cleaned bricks by most any homeowner over the weekend. It should be noted that any nearby plants, shrubs, or grass should be protected as the paver sealer is applied. After several years as the sealer begins to fade the bricks can simply be washed and re-coated with paver sealer again. This regular type of maintenance will ensure that your new landscape wall looks good all the time and will last for many years of enjoyment.
