Best Man Speech Examples

Have you been asked to be a best man but don’t know where to start or find ideas for your best man speech? Well, I’m going to help you out. I will give you an example of a best man speech that I have gave so that you can take little bits and pieces or move the words around a little to adjust it for your own use for your best man speech. I won’t get mad if you use it word for word, although it probably wouldn’t fit because the chances that all the words pertain to your personal experience are highly unlikely.
Here goes:
“Good evening everybody. My name is John. I am a very old friend of Derrick’s. We’ve known each other since kindergarten, so you can imagine all the experiences we’ve had together. Anyway, when he asked me to be best man, I wasn’t surprised. I was the one who told him he should take the plunge and marry Kim and while he was at it, ask her if she had a sister!
Anyway, nobody could handle Derrick the way Kim does, and all without taking him away from our Sunday games. I told him to ask her to marry him out of selfishness really, because I never liked his other girlfriends and she always made extra snacks for me when I was coming over. No, really, she is very good to him and he is really lucky to have her. Also, I know he loves her with a passion………because he told me one night that he got really drunk at the New Year’s party. I know it’s hard to tell, but I am kind of a romantic and old fashioned and I firmly believe that if a man and woman really love each other, all else will just work itself out. So……..Here is to the bride and groom, whom I know love each other. May they live a long happy life together with all the blessings they deserve. May they never allow their love to take second place because the world is full of evil things that could break two people apart. May their days be sweet and their nights sweeter. And may they name their first son after me!”
I did add a little humor to this speech and kept it short but I delivered an effective best man jokes that kept the attention of the crowd, gave them feelings of happiness and romance and set the mood for a nice and cheerful evening.
